No, your refund will not be affected. You should file on time. But if you do not owe, your tax liability has been paid and you are merely verifying your income and expenses with the return. You have 3 years to claim refunds from April 15 deadline to deadline.

Gailforce_wind is correct. You have until 4/17 to file so you really should get your return in the mail or at least an extension. You, however, have an advantage in that you don't have to include an estimated payment since you don't owe anything. personally, I'd want my money back ASAP.

If you don't file, you won't get a refund. If you file late they will charge you. The earlier you file the sooner you'll get your money.
