Hi , I know how you feel. It seems like the government takes so much in taxes and we are just out there not knowing what to do. I recently came across a fabulous program that is always being updated. It is called The Renaissance Goldmine of Brilliant Tax Strategies for Real Estate Investors. Not only is the software fabulous, but when I get stuck and I need an answer for a difficult question, I can just send an email and I get the best and most profound answers - right away. This guy is super educated and really knows the real estate tax law. I don't think that there is any question he cannot address and has saved me thousands in taxes - which is more money in my pocket. The software is a little pricey, but it is really worth the money - almost instantly! Check it out at: www.goldlynxllc.com/audit-proof-taxes/
Hope this helps

Those acronyms don't seem to have anything to do with the IRS or taxes. Are you sure you're understanding the assignment properly?

The IRS MSSP is "Market Segment Specialization Program". It is a training program for IRS employees to gain specialized knowledge about different industries. For example, some IRS employees may be trained specifically to examine and audit businesses in the restaurant industry while others become trained in the construction industry. There are audit guides issued by the IRS for their employees for different industries. I used to work in public accounting and we would study the IRS ATGs (Audit Technique Guides) to gain a better understanding of what the IRS may be looking at when our clients were audited.
I have never heard of ISSP in relation to the IRS however.
