I filed 1/25 it was accepted 1/30 and 23 days later the wmr is still showing that the return is being processed and that's the same answer I get when I call the irs. I didn't file any education credits. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I am also, can't get a straight answer from the IRS. This is my 23 day and nothing. This has been the worst tax season ever, and hard working people like us, have to just down and take it. I have a feeling that if you claimed EIC and have dependents they are reviewing every little thing, due to all the fraud in the past. The thing that gets me is that I have filed the same way every year for the past 7 yrs and now they want to check.... Good luck to you, maybe this weekend will bring good news for us all..... But I wont hold my breath!!

Yes I am experiencing the same issue. I filed on the 31 of Jan and it was accepted the same date and when I called on Wednesday the rep stated that I should have a DD date the next day. So yesterday I checked and there was not a DD date. I called and was told 3 different things. They stated first that a letter was sent out to me requesting more information and that they see where I sent that information in already. False, a letter was never sent nor did I send anything back. Then when I called back the next nasty rep that I spoke with stated that a letter was requested on 01/15/2013, but she cannot tell me what the letter is let alone what the errors were on my refund and that my 21 waiting period actually hadn't expired yet. So I said again what errors are on my return as I didn't file any school credits, same two children, same address, same bank and same tax preparer. She said allow time to get the letter. I said ok so why doesn't the WMR state a code so that way I know that I am getting a letter. She said mam don't worry about the WMR website and allow 3-4 weeks to get the letter and then hung up. Wow, but yet they take there taxes out every pay period. Just sad...

I am having the same issues. I filed on 1/31 and it was accepted almost immediately. I checked the WMR and for the longest time it was saying processing on the status bar. Wednesday of last week the status bar went to approved and said I would have my refund on 2/15 and if it wasn't direct deposited by the 20th to call the bank. Well it was not direct deposited so I checked on Saturday and it went back to processing your return. I am a little confused as to what is going on. I am now on day 23 from the date my refund was accepted. I am thinking the IRS is having some issues with their system and they are just so swamped with the increased amount of electronic filers this year they are having trouble catching up.

I'm the same way, the irs found a error code. The code number was either 349 or 359 which says it was a system error, The nice guy I talked to said that they are "baffled" because they have seen this code on a lot of returns but don't know why or how to fix it. If you call the 1-800-829-1040 press 0 three times ask to speak to errors dept, when someone from errors picks up, tell them you were transferred to fix your error, they'll ask you all your info, and when they ask if the rep gave you a code tell them no, that the rep you spoke with says theirs an error but no code. They will look it up and if you do have an actual error they should more than likely fix it for you. I filed Jan 26th, was accepted the 30th and now sitting with you'll get a ddd when available, I have a simple return like the last 5 years, I only changed my filing status. Hope this works. Good Luck.

Most electronic filers regardless of filing status, credit claimed or not claimed are having a similar situation with getting their refunds. VERY few have gotten their refunds without hassle or long waits.

Pretty much what the other person said. Almost everyone.
