mine has been in the errors dept for 45days now, and I cant get any answers from the irs

I am in the error dept. too, and was also told that there is not a code attached to it. I don't know. I was told that it would only be there 3-4 days but it has been 5. I was told by one rep that their systems update only on the weekends and then by another that it updates everyday. I just wish I could get a straight forward answer.

Hi i filed on Jan 17th accepted on Jan 18th also i just found out today that my return is in error resolution.and has been there for 6 days i was told mine should come out of error resolution in 2 days to be processed,and not to worry it seemed to be something minor,the rep said if they can fix it they will and i should get it by Feb 5,they have no idea what it is he said could be misspelling math error just something simple.he also said they have been receiving allot of returns going to error resolution and where backed up so it could also be a computer glitch.now heres my hypothesis allot of us filed around the time of the first cycle which is before Jan 21 at 11 am...many didnt even get and update on WMR because its not updating properly i was told that by rep I think that more people filed this year in the 1st cycle that it made things go haywire and computers didnt update forcing some returns int error resolution, because if the system didnt update us we get no refund and no stat on WMR.over all too many early fillers and the IRS couldnt handle giving away money so too make sure returns were done right some early filers got placed into error resolution system but will be payed out the next cycle.the system couldnt get everyone in the pay system in time for the 1st cycle...and check this out when theres a error theres an error code i was told mine didnt give a code!!! everything looked correct.i shouldn't have a problem kinda confirmed my Hypothesis and some got there returns on Jan 26th because of the new chad system.....could be why the system is jacked up..

Same thing happened to me this year.. I also filed on the 15th I called today they said mine would be deposited in my account on friday.. They will just take the money you owe out

It will probably be delayed no more than a week or two They will deduct what you owe and if they see that you paid they will just issue your refund but will probably take a little longer since it is in the error resolution dept

im not mistaken, Do you remember on Turbo tax about Making Work Pay for you credit? Did you answer yes for the $250 credit for last year? If you did your return went into the error department. I answered yes because I thought it was referring to the rebates. My refund I thought I was due was $1825, after the IRS corrected it became to be $2075. And now it says scheduled to be deposited on 2/5 Hopes this helps you.
