I am a self employeed commercial and residential window cleaner. I filed my 2009 and 2010 tax return under my own tax ID number. Two days ago I recieved two 1099 forms from a former person Ive subcontracted window cleaning jobs for. It was to my understanding that I was to keep up with my earnings and my responsibility to file my own taxes. So I have no Idea why he is sending me 1099 forms now, especially one from 2009. I stopped working for him 3 months ago, and didnt leave on good standing. I told his wife he was cheating.. not exactly my place, but I felt it was right for her to know. So its not like I can call and have reasonable conversation with this person now. Since I didnt submit an 1099 for for either year Im freaking out because I have no idea how to fix this. He is showing 4,000.00$ more for 2010 than I actually earned. the 2009 1099 only shows a little over 7500.00$ when actually I made alot more, just not thru him. I just added the total earnings for the jobs I contracted out from him to the amount I made under my own company,. so Im mostly worried about the 2010 tax return. Someone please help?! :(

You correct your returns by filing a 1040X for each year. You report your actual income from your records, whether or not you received a 1099 for any or all of it. The 1099 should match your records. If it doesn't (and the customer won't correct it), be prepared to justify your numbers to the IRS by bank records, copies of receipts, invoices, copies of checks, etc.

you are able to subtract the allowable $3000 each and each 12 months out of your carryover in spite of in case you probably did no longer have some thing to offset it antagonistic to. With a cap loss carryover, $3000 each and each 12 months is hit upon it or lose it. What replaced into your carryover from 2008? If lower than $6000, and also you had no added internet losses is 2009 or 2010, your carryover is executed.

He is probably hassling you because of you snitching on him, and he most likely sent copies of those 1099's to the IRS. I know it will cost, but you need to see a tax attorney and contest those 1099's.

Call the IRS so you get the correct information directly from the source, and take care of anything else. All they will want to know is just your finances.
