I filed my return and it was accepted on the same day, February 11th. At that time I had a status bar indicating they have received my return and had the following message:

We have received your tax return and it is being processed.

You should get your refund within 21 days from the date we received your tax return.
Please check here or use our free mobile app, IRS2Go, to check on your refund status.
Please read the following information related to your tax situation:

• Tax Topic 152, Refund Information

Then after about 48 hours the status bar disappeared for about two weeks and I got the message that a refund/DD date will be given when available.

Now today on the 17th day since filing I have the status bar back and the message I should have my refund within 21 days of receiving my tax return.

Has anyone else have this happen? And if so, do you know what it means? Did you receive a DD shortly thereafter?

you will still be getting a refund. Mine also disappeared I filed mine on February 5th and I filed education credits so they didn't get accepted until the 14th. The 16th my bar disappeared and it just showed me back up on Monday and now today I got the refund accepted and my direct deposit day which is Monday the 24th it was just 3 days shy of being 21 days so just give it time im sure your getting it

I filed the 7 of Feb. Was accepted the next day and week three it said still being processed. The next week it disappeared and still says being processed. Don't know of I had forms everyone is talking about but did have a larger than norm return. Daughter and family all lived with me and no work all year so claimed extras, and both her and I in school.. Very frustrated.

The refund tool is "new & improved" this year, which means they are still working out the kinks. Also, they are swamped with all the last minute changes and all the returns that were "held." Our tax return software held all the tax returns with forms that were not being accepted yet, until they instant it was able to be accepted, then transmitted them. Tax preparers all over the country have similar software so the IRS was inundated with thousands of returns all at once. This is causing delays and problems. Unfortunately, when it comes to taxes, you have to wait and see.
