What If someone had to leave the country after their electronically filed their 2013 Personal Income Tax Return and wanted their relative or someone else to have their tax refund direct deposited into their bank account.

Does anyone maybe know if there is a way for electronic filers to leave their tax refund in ' the care of someone else', similar to what is allotted for deceased tax payers, so that the direct deposit does not get rejected? Thank You So Much:)

you don't

you can select a bank account or other financial institution but not a person

in the case of a deceased taxpayer, the form 1310 is included to allow any refund to be sent to the person preparing the return

Can't be done, won't be done. The IRS must have a paper trail of to whom the refund check was issued - and it must match the filer's return. The name on the refund check must match the name on the bank account. This is to prevent criminals from falsely obtaining your refund. The IRS has no way of knowing your relationship with your friend, family or whoever you are having your check handled.

You can draw up a Limited Power of Attorney to allow a family member to handle your deposit. Otherwise, you'll have to find some other way of processing your refund check.

No you cannot. Your name MUST be on the account. Keep your account open or get a prepaid card and have it loaded onto it.
