I see on the net people talk about Marital Status on their W-2. As long as I know W-2 doesn't show marital status but pay stubs may do. Is there any kind of W-2 listing marital status? Thank you

No, there is no place on Form W-2 for marital or withholding status. That said, many people mix up Forms W-4 and W-2. On Form W-4 there is a place to show the marital status that you want your withholding based upon.

A lot of people say W-2 when they mean W-4. Your W-4 will list the status you checked when you filled it out. Your W-2 does not list your marital status.

The uninformed talking about the unknown and yada. A W-2 form is a statement of what was paid in wages and how much was withheld in turned in for social security, medicare, federal and state income tax, retirement, etc. This is issued at years end and covers a specific one year time period. This is all it does. Knowledge is power.

Even if the W-2 did, it wouldn't matter. You file the tax return using your actual filing status.

no. You check married or single on your W-4 though, if that's what you mean, since withholding is different depending on what you check.
